A visit to Cavas Codonríu is a stroll through the history of cava and Catalan culture. Thousands of people have admired these wonderful cavas, they are considered the best in the world and the pride of this wine-producing region. Codorníu cava was born here in 1872 when Josep Raventós made history after three long years of experimentation with his very first bottle.
In 1976, the Cavas Codoríu was declared a historical-artistic Monument and is listed as one of Spain's National Monuments of Cultural Heritage. A guided tour allows the visitor to follow the process of cava making, from grape to the bottling process. Take the train which passes five floors underground where thousands of bottles of cava lie in quiet silence, aging.
