Inaugurated by the Barcelona City Council in 1941, the Maritime Museum reunites in its collection diverse models of boats, nautical art, paintings, navigational instruments, maps and nautical cards, etc., all which combine to illustrate the marine evolution in an ample geographic and chronological context. Special attention is paid to Catalan maritime.

Located in the Royal Atarazanas. This architectural ensemble is a unique example of gothic civil architecture and was dedicated to the construction of ships for the Catalan-Aragon crown in the XIII century.

A great sea adventure awaits the visitor with the most relevant details of maritime history: The conquest of the sea and the enormous difficulty man has had to endure along the way; the tough and doubtlessly passionate life aboard the sea vessels.
